I lOVE anything with a history…a story…so, one of my favorite things to do is to go hunting in our local antique mall…I could spend all day there. I get lost imagining who would have used each found treasure and what that person’s daily life must have looked like. It’s especially hard to resist looking for old books that I can use for journaling and mixed media projects…One always seems to find it’s way into my basket.
June with Annabelle June…a photo block tutorial
It all started with some doodles using Copic alcohol markers and Faber Castell multi liners.
All Doodles pieces were cut out and ready to add to the Wood Block.
This is a Wood block purchased from Michaels. ( 7″ x 3 1/2″)
I Painted it with Gesso, and then added scrapbook paper.
Next, I printed photos (in mini sizes) on white card stock using my home printer. I next stitched them on to cream colored burlap with my sewing machine.
Finally, glued them all in place using matte multi-medium.
Stereo view cards had two pictures mounted for parallel viewing, on 7 x 3.5 inch heavy cards, usually curved slightly with axis along the long length. The pictures were taken with a two-lensed camera, recording the subject from two points of view separated by about 2.5 inches, duplicating what our two eyes see.
Below is a Greeting Card made with an Antique Stereo View Card…cool, I think:)
