Happy Doodling!!!
xo,
So much of what we face in life can become a vehicle to build our faith by simply inviting the Holy Spirit. He changes the way we think. The way we love.
25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” -John 14
Starting my day in worship with the song below…
I strive to LOVE my fellow man, and to fight against the spiritual forces of evil that desire to kill and destroy and steal from us.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” -Ephesians 6
“The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.” -John 10:10
But then Jesus, how should we live an abundant life among those who we don’t see “eye to eye?”
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it:You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40
It’s a waste of our LOVE to taint it with judgement…for that is not love at all. Love does not win if we focus on ourselves or on our differences. Putting others before ourselves is what God is asking us to do…and we CANNOT do that apart from Him. The enemy’s plan is to divide us. God’s plan is to unite us. Until we take the time to know our God for ourselves, spending time with Him and His Word, which is CHrist…we cannot see beyond our limited human mind.
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. “(only through the revelation of the Holy Spirit) 1 Corinthians 2:16
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
I choose to LOVE.
Father, please grow my desire to seek you with my WHOLE heart and to LOVE as you have LOVED.
Blessings,
What an amazing night of worship and truth. Nearly 10,000 women (and a few men!) gathered in the name of Christ. Beth Moore can preach it like nobody’s business and has been my teacher for almost 18 years and although she can draw a crowd, it is truly the Lord who is calling us to Himself.
We will be digging into the story of the Shunammite woman. A wealthy woman of “significance” who took in Elisha the prophet, by asking him to stay in the her upper room…the best room in the house.
When he asked what he could do to repay her she said nothing…I want for nothing…”I dwell among my own people.”
She was content to do him this kindness…allow him to stay with no expectation of something in return…but, when Elisha wanted to “do more” for her…she said, I’m good…I can take care of myself.
Beth said last night…”Do we not just want Jesus to stay in His room so we can take care of things ourselves? We seem to prefer He come out of His room ONLY when we get to the end of our rope and need someone to save us.
Excited for and anticipating “Moore” great teaching today.
Blessings,
Good morning!
Thanks to all those who have joined in following 1Arthouse! Here is a new DOODLE for you today:) Just so you know…I am going to see Beth Moore tomorrow and Saturday, so although I may not have any new doodles for you in the next few days, I know that I will have much inspiration after spending the weekend with Beth🙂 I can’t wait!
May you find time to be with the King of Glory today! What a gift that we have a KING who wants to walk with us.
Who is this King of Glory that persues me with his love
And haunts me with each hearing of His softly spoken words
My conscience, a reminder of forgiveness that I need
Who is this King of Glory who offers it to me
Who is this King of angels, O blessed Prince of Peace
Revealing things of Heaven and all its mysteries
My spirit¹s ever longing for His grace in which to stand
Who’s this King of glory, Son of God and son of man
His name is Jesus, precious Jesus
The Lord Almighty, the King of my heart
The King of glory
Who is this King of Glory with strength and majesty
And wisdom beyond measure, the graceous King of kings
the Lord of Earth and Heaven, the Creator of all things
Who is this King of Glory, He’s everything to me
The Lord of Earth and Heaven, the Creator of all things
He is the King of glory, He’s everything to me
-THIRD DAY
I have started my work as a scribe, as I used my Journible for the first time today. I am writing the book of Proverbs, and I found myself repeating the same phrase over and over today…
PROVERBS IS TO GIVE PRUDENCE TO THE SIMPLE.
“caution to the simple.”
How easy it is to overlook the mundane. The things that we do over an over, often numb to the repetitive “doing.” I think this is why most of us can relate to the book of Proverbs. It applies to our lives daily. I pray that as I study, scribe and meditate on Proverbs that I will begin to see the benefits to having caution in the “simple” mundane details of my life.
…That the Holy Spirit would bring wisdom to the forefront with every task I perform and that I would recognize the ease in which I might fall from failing to be cautious in the simple:)
Praying against the wanderings of my foolish heart, longing to be wise.
Blessings,
If we don’t have truth written on our heart, we cannot recognize a lie. The enemy is crafty. Ephesians chapter 6 is clear that the only defense we have is our sword…the word…the truth.
In school I found the best way for me to study was to re-write my notes. It seemed to give me a “visual” of the information as I wrote, having to think about each word. I find the same is true with scripture…another reason I enjoy journaling in my Bible. I recently purchased my first Journible to practice this process by re-writing each line of God’s word. Below is a link if you’d like to check them out for yourself!
Not only is the truth our defense, but it is the bread of life. I pray that God would write His word on our hearts so that it would pour out of each of us breathing life on others.
Blessings,
Hello!
My lifeline for the last 18 years has been Women’s Bible Study. Let’s face it…without constant encouragement and accountability we fall away. We are stupid sheep. A friend I used to teach with (in children’s ministry) grew up on a farm that raised sheep. stupid sheep. He told me that when it got cold the sheep would huddle together….NO…not just huddle, actually PILE UP on top of each other. He said that one day he went out to where they had been sleeping for the night and found a pile of dead sheep. They had suffocated each other…and this happened more than once…20 sheep pile up. WHAT A PICTURE of who we are…we are so slow to learn, and then have trouble remembering just what it is God has taught us…over and over, we pile up.
Women’s Bible Study is a preventative measure to avoid my own pile up. Hence my sheep doodle today!
“My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow Me.” – John 10:27
Hearing God’s voice takes commitment. obedience. a sincere desire to put our stupid stubborn sheep will aside and humbly practice God’s presence.
“If you want to hear God’s voice clearly and you are uncertain, then remain in His presence until He changes this uncertainty. Often much can happen during this waiting for the Lord. Sometimes He changes pride into humility; doubt into faith and peace; sometime lust into purity. The Lord CAN and WILL do it. ” -Corrie Ten Boom
I want to be a listening sheep.
Bless you!
