Doodle 101 / the Sparrow
I often think of a story Priscilla Shirer shared in one of her teachings about the sparrow. She said that “in Biblical times” sparrows were worth very little…in fact…less than a little… they were worth nothing. When purchasing readily available sparrow at the market, shop keepers often sold 2 for 1 and “threw in” a THIRD for NOTHING. Priscilla is a powerful story teller, and this principle was driven home for me as she described this process with great passion…helping me to see that if God cares for something man values as worthless…He certainly cares for me! What good news for this world full of sinners.
Happy doodling!
Doodle of the Day:)
One of my favorite Beth Moore studies is Believing God. This quote has stayed with me ever since!
*The FULL quote (5 Statements of faith) from this study goes like this:

Doodle 101 / Pathway
It’s easy to ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit isn’t it? We hear Him, and then proceed in our own way.
His voice might be a gentle prodding to put someone else before ourselves.
The whisper may be a hint that we are headed in the wrong direction, one that will lead to destruction.
Maybe it is the urging to wait in God’s presence until our thoughts become aligned with His.
It is much harder to STOP…& COMMIT to obedience…but it is there that we are blessed with the presence of God…which only leads to joy and peace beyond what we can muster up for ourselves.
I don’t know about you, but I learn and re-learn this over and over. Duh, right? (we are such stupid sheep!)
I think we all have the “Malcom in the Middle” theme song playing in our heads night and day…
“You’re not the boss of me now
You’re not the boss of me now
You’re not the boss of me now
And you’re not so big. Life is unfair.”
song by Vic Mizzy
No wonder we think it is unfair. We try to be our own god.
Surrounding ourselves with others who are seeking God with their whole heart…offering encouragement, wisdom and discernment…the Body in action:) This is what we need. Encouraging one another daily.
“But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” -Hebrews 3:13
My sweet friend Julie, taught me the 3 P’s:)
Pause, Pray, & Proceed.
It is in the obedience of the pause & prayer that we will hear the Holy Spirit’s voice and listen. And as it says in this beautiful truth…Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you ears WILL HEAR a voice behind you saying, “This is the way , walk in it.” -Isaiah 30:21
-just sayin
Doodle 101 / Shield
I am in the book of Proverbs using a Journible to write each verse as I take notes.
I love the visual this verse produces for me…that as we walk in integrity (the state of being whole and undivided) God is a shield before us…a force of protection against the schemes of the enemy.
To be “whole and undivided” we must have our “whole” heart focused on the Lord. As we are aligned (in position…behind His authority) in Him, we can “walk” in His footsteps that go before us.
The picture of His powerful shield in front of me, gives me the courage to do what He calls me to do.
Our Father is so good beyond any definition of good we could imagine with our limited human thinking.
Thank you Father, that you not only provide the direction of our steps toward GOOD, but that you protect us from the unforeseen as we travel on the journey toward eternity.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by!
Blessings,
Doodle 101/ Feather …with beet juice for color!
My daughter and grandchildren are here all week and I am in Heaven:) I did find a little time to put together a doodle for you! I am loving all the new followers and would love to hear from you out there:) Thanks for stopping by!!
I LOVE this scripture! Our Father is so Mighty yet so gentle as to cover us with His tender feathers…that we can find refuge under His power and authority wrapped up in His mercy and grace. We have a GOOD Father.
I am a little obsessed with beets right now, and I love to roast them with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. When they come out of the oven, I squeeze a little fresh orange juice on them and store them in the fridge to eat plain or add with mixed greens, goat cheese and candied pecans….mmm….
I had this baking tray filled with vibrant red “juice” and just had to use it for a background!
The Olive oil actually added a pretty shimmer to the paper. The oil made it a little difficult in spots for the ink to “go through.” The good news is, it didn’t damage my pens at all. I just had to scribble on a piece of scrap paper a few times in between letters:)
Now go try some beets!!!
Blessings,
Doodle 101 / Don’t dig up what God’s planted:)
Daily Doodle /Proverbs Journible
We are getting ready to leave for home today… spending time in the quiet before the roosters crow:)
Being at the family farm is an annual event…one we all look forward to. As I sit and look out at the corn crib, this
verse in Proverbs gives me hope. Our God has unlimited resources for us if we simply look upward instead of inward. No matter what I try to store for myself, it will never be enough. God’s storehouse is full for His children and it is open “all night long” 24/7.
God only has good gifts for His “sheep.”
Bless you,
Sue
Proverbs & Project Life Cards
Continuing in my Proverbs Journible… I love that our good Father will make His words known to us! Our first step is to be taken towards Him, rather than away from Him. Why do we find this so hard? He rewards us with revelation which gives us abundant life! …praying I will pause long enough to be aware of my need to turn.
Hoping some of you might join me in creating these scripture cards. They come in a cute little box, but you could laminate them and keep them on a key ring….I’m thinking about pulling one out each week to add to my car key ring- there I can see it all day:)
Thank you for stopping by today!
Bless you!
Sue
