I’m continuing to look at the life of Joseph facilitated by Jennie Allen’s Bible study, Restless.
Joseph did not start out with the most humble of attitudes when he informed his brothers that he would one day rule over them, yet the confidence he had then, never waivered. He knew that God had great purpose for his life, and that even in his darkest days, Joseph chose to do the work the Lord called him to do….wherever he was.
Only the Lord Himself could have given Joseph the ability to forgive his family for all they had done, with a heart that longed to save.
“God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance. “Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
-Gen 45:7.8
No one can thwart God’s plans…not even a family of boys who sold their brother into slavery.
God used it all to accomplish His plans.
The Lord calls each of us to go ahead of someone else…that we might participate in His rescue mission!
What an awesome responsibility…a privilege.
No matter where your “place” is right now…God has good work for you to do. Work that no one else can do like you.
Blessings,
