Abide..
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me” -John 15:4
This scripture illustrates the vital union existing between Christians and Jesus Christ.
The word “abide” basically means “to remain.”
and Remain means “to stay”
Unless we stay with Jesus, meaning He is with us moment by moment…we cannot bear fruit.
I believe that ALL people have the desire to live with fruit!
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control. BUT, even deeper than that, we each have a desire to be “back in the garden” with our Father. It is hardwired within us…our DNA.
Unless we connect to the source (the Holy Spirit) our branch will wither and die…we must STAY (abide) in the Vine…which is Christ.
This became a prayer for me almost 20 years ago.
It was the desire of my heart…something I didn’t fully realize, until other faithful women came along side me, and showed me what that looked like in a practical way!
We need each other girls! The love and truth you share with each other is LIFE SAVING & LIFE GIVING.
The Holy Spirit whispers this sweet word to me each time I seek the Lord.
“stay with me” and you will know my Glory.
Praying that you will ask the Lord to grow your desire to abide in Him. To stay with Him, through every moment of your day. You will see the miraculous in the mundane, you will see beauty through the ashes, & you will know calm in the storm.
And through it all, you will know LOVE.
