“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” -Hebrews 4:12
As we study God’s Word, it is important to remember that it is living, active, able to move mountains…It is Christ, Himself.
We cannot begin to fully understand all of the mysteries of our God, but He allows us know His character, His protection, His comfort, His power, His truth, His forgiveness, His guidance, His provision, His LOVE…And as we venture out in faith, one step at a time, He increases this knowledge as it penetrates our hearts through the experience of His Holy presence.
We can study God’s Word, but until it becomes an ACTION in our lives, we will remain unchanged.
Seeking, Surrendering, & Listening are the first steps…RESPONDING will bring change…will move us closer to the Lord, closer to our good purpose, and closer to living in all circumstances with the JOY (contentment) that can only come from the Lord as we ABIDE in Christ. (SEE PREVIOUS POSTS)
Listen to what the Holy Spirit prompts you to DO…then make a commitment to follow through…to take action…to move towards the good purpose the Lord has created you for:)
TO LOVE GOD AND LOVE OTHERS.
Listening and Doing takes practice. It doesn’t happen naturally for any us. I have found it so helpful to get practical.
In things we are working to accomplish (piano, art, cooking, math, card tricks, knitting, soccer, tennis…) there is a method of practice to achieve a greater skill. Think of ABIDING, as something you want to get better at! What can you do to practice? To GROW IN YOUR ABIDING SKILLS?
We can support help one another by sharing our methods!
PRayerfully consider what the Lord might have YOU share with others. Let’s get in there and function as a “Body.” When you check in with our FB group, take some time to encourage someone or enter to BE encouraged!
How are the TRUTHS you are learning becoming RESPONSES. Let’s all take the time to pray for one another in this! That the Lord would cause our hearts to DESIRE OBDEDIENCE…to FOLLOW THROUGH with His direction and purpose each day.
