The Virtue of Contentment / WK 2 / Day 4

Hello!  Today marks Day 4 in our second Week of study in “The Virtue of Contentment.”  Each week there are lesson and project files to work through as well as the questions and scripture study in your workbook.

This week’s project (found in your support files)  combines the “fancy fill” technique with what you’ve learned by using your watercolors.  Please adjust the project ideas to fit the products of your choice.  You are certainly not limited to watercolor!  I like to use watercolor because it is “flexible”, transparent, vibrant, and does not easily “migrate” through the pages of your Bible. There will be a “better” process video of this week’s project posted later today.

On to our “homework.”

Part of the reason for “Digging Deeper” into our earthly relationships, is to find a root that contributes to our discontent.  It often stems from areas of unforgiveness, pride, anger, resentment, and “hurt feelings.”  These responses to our circumstances (vs. the truth, according to God’s Word) cause us to have a distorted view and change the way we see ourselves, others and even God.  These responses become our new “baseline” and affect how we interact with every relationship.  This often leads to  sin which separates us from the Lord, affecting our ability to hear His voice.

“but your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.”  -Isaiah 59:2

When we cannot hear the voice of truth, we get lost.  We veer off the path the Lord has for us to take and end up confused and often feeling abandoned.  Our Father has not forsaken us. We have allowed ourselves to be steered away from Him.  He is there.  Waiting for us to look up.

Take time these last few days of week 2, and listen to what the Lord has to say to you about unresolved conflict in your life.  Allow Him the opportunity to shed light over dark places, to heal your wounds, to clear up misunderstandings and restore your hearing.  Move forward in the direction He is calling you to go.  Especially if that means you are to resolve some difficult conflicts in your life.  He will be with you.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6

May God bless you in your obedience!

In Him,

Sue
