Perfect peace

BAJ:Perfect peace:Isaiah: Sue Carroll

Often, my idea of perfect peace is calm waters…free of waves…easy.  God’s perfect peace is better.  In HIS perfect peace we find confidence to trust Him more.  It is a place where our mind is on HIM and not our fleeting agenda.  It is place where we find not only rest, but strength as we come to experience His love and faithfulness.

Without dark, we cannot understand light.  Without unrest, we cannot know peace.

” You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
    because he trusts in you.
 Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”   -Isaiah 26:3,4

Perfect Peace by Laura Story

Stay close by My side
Keep your eyes on Me
Though this life is hard
I will give you perfect peace

In this time of trial
Pain that no one sees
Trust me when I say
That I will give you perfect peace

And you’ll never walk alone
And you’ll never be in need
Though I may not calm the storms around you
You can hide in Me

Burdens that you bear
Offer no relief
Let Me bear your load
‘Cause I will give you perfect peace

Stay close by My side
And you’ll never walk alone
Keep your eyes on Me
And you’ll never be in need
Though this life is hard
Know that I will always give you perfect peace
I will give you perfect peace

As you experience storms, know that with your mind on Him, you WILL find unexpected peace, that will grow your faith that the Lord is good.

BAJ/Blessings/Sue Carroll

Blessings often come in disguise… As we are afforded the opportunity to look back with a perspective that can come from the Holy Spirit (if we seek Him), our good God allows us to see the work of His hand.  Finding joy in our pain can only come from the confidence developed through obedience and blessing.  I re-learn this quite often:)

“Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise”

-from Blessings, by Laura Story

If you are in the trenches, with your head down in despair, I pray that you will look up and see that God is near, and He ALWAYS offers you a hand up…a way out…

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

-1 Corinthians 10:13

In studying the book of Proverbs I am becoming more and more aware that YES, Proverbs offers wisdom (truth)…God breathed sound advice and application …

BUT, for me (someone with only a RIGHT brain 🙂 )Screen Shot 2015-08-25 at 6.53.16 AM it offers great imagery…vivid PICTURES of the principles described.

I am a visual learner, and for me, this brings God’s word to life in a way that grabs many senses.

What an amazing God.  His word IS alive. I am experiencing that more fully and I am in awe.

KOI Watercolors

One of my favorite supplies when it comes to mixed media and Bible Art Journaling is this handy travel size watercolor kit by KOI.

I use this almost every day, and take it with me most everywhere I go!  The water brush comes with the kit and you can’t beat the handy palettes!

I thought you might like to see that they also come in tubes and you can refill your pans, or use the color right out of the tube.

Here’s a peek at their vibrant color!

Followers…just thought you might be interested:)

Bless you!

Good Morning!

Hopefully you’ve had your coffee and some quiet time:)

I recently did a Priscilla Shirer Bible study called “Breathe.”  If you have never had the opportunity to hear her teach, I encourage you to!  Her down to earth delivery and conversational tone combined with her passion for God and His word is so inspiring!

During our time together, she encouraged us to make margins in our life for worship, with a specific challenge to spend just 14 minutes with Him each day.  14 minutes expressing gratitude to our Father for His goodness, faithfulness, mercy, grace and provision.  It seems like such a small thing to do for our God who gives us life.

I am guilty of putting so much else before my Creator.  Clear out some space for Him and you’ll see good change in your days.  He meets us in our praise!

Here is Priscilla Shirer’s Breathe Trailer

Thanks for stopping by!

LIfe has been busy and full of change, so I have been away from my blog.

Nice to be back:)

So….I need to offer up a BIG thanks to Shanna Noel of “Illustrated Faith” for helping me make the connection between my passion for worship, bible study, creating and teaching!  Wow…I’m very thankful for the way she has put herself out there, reaching thousands of others to bridge this same gap.  Thank you Shanna!

Every day I look for ways that I can create.  I don’t think I have anything on the left side of my brain…it’s all on the right:) I have been doodling and lettering since grade school, and I admit I have a problem with crafting!  For the last several years I have been a Designer for various Craft companies and have had the opportunity to work with many fun mixed media products.  I teach mixed media and cooking classes in my home.  I love to create and I love to teach.

I know that this creative gene comes from my Father:)

We have a creative God…one just has to look from the majestic mountainside to the metamorphosis of a butterfly…from the transparent bioluminescence of a jellyfish, to a bird that can talk…just to name a few creative miracles from our Father’s hands.

I’m not quite sure why it has taken me so long to connect my intense desire to create with my passion for worship…but Bible Art Journaling has deepened my connection to God’s written word as He allows imagery and color to expand His revelation to touch other senses.

It is a process that begins with the Holy Spirit through prayer. Next, studying each verse… listening…writing…questioning…listening some more…then creating a memorial to be remembered.  Not only by me, but someday by my children, I hope. It is a time of worship.

I have been teaching Bible Art Journaling Classes, and I am loving every minute!

I am working on ways to help other find success in the process of creating.  I will be posting more “Doodle Helps” in the near future.

Hope you enjoy what I’ve put together for you:)
