We are in our final week of study in Lisa Harper’s “Believing Jesus.”
This week, we are taking a closer look at the BOLD love and faith of Priscilla, Peter, Paul, Luke, and Jesus.
There is a POwer that comes with Jesus’ forgiveness, that brings out a boldness in faith. BRAVE LOVE, that rises above all adversity to save another.
In 1 Peter we can be encouraged as we read that we are
“Born again to a living hope through Christ…to an INHERITANCE that is imperishable…KEPT IN HEAVEN FOR ME!” – guarded by God’s Power:)
God is guarding my imperishable inheritance! (No matter what I might face)
“…rejoice…even though we experience trials, these will produce genuine faith that comes through the fire in praise and GLORY & HONOR for Jesus Christ.”
I am so grateful for these truths, as I am daily reminded of the division and turmoil within our world, our country, our churches, and even our family’s!
Verse 14 JUMPED out at me…
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
We must not get caught up in our “former ignorance” but see with God’s perspective and LOVE …with His merciful and gracious heart.
-And in 1 Peter Chapter 2…
“So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
“As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
Put away malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander…and put on a Holy conduct…for we “shall be Holy, for HE is Holy.”
What GOOD GOOD news this November!
May we ALL LONG for pure Spiritual Milk…
May we go to the Father as HIS children…there, we will find our belly’s full and satisfied…overflowing to others…able to extend His grace…removed from the noise, fear, anger, and confusion of the world…to see HOPE in the future God has prepared for us…
MILK = BRAVE LOVE
If we don’t get our spiritual milk, we’ll settle for swamp water…which leads to a BELLY ACHE…maybe death.
We have an IMPERISHABLE INHERITANCE, that OUR FATHER guards for us in Heaven.
All things in perspective…this is not our home.
