Wherever you are…

Do you ever feel frustrated where you are?  Wondering why you can’t be where you WANT to be…over THERE???

I believe…that wherever we are…God has purpose for us…a job, an assignment…even if we think we want to be somewhere else.  AND,  if we take the time to seek His face in that place…He will reveal that purpose and we will THEN be CONTENT to be where we ARE.

even if it’s hard.

even if it’s messy.

even if we thought we wanted something else.

“Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.”  -1 Corinthians 7:17

I need to be reminded of this DAILY.

Perfect peace

Often, my idea of perfect peace is calm waters…free of waves…easy.  God’s perfect peace is better.  In HIS perfect peace we find confidence to trust Him more.  It is a place where our mind is on HIM and not our fleeting agenda.  It is place where we find not only rest, but strength as we come to experience His love and faithfulness.

Without dark, we cannot understand light.  Without unrest, we cannot know peace.

” You keep him in perfect peace
    whose mind is stayed on you,
    because he trusts in you.
 Trust in the Lord forever,
    for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”   -Isaiah 26:3,4

Doodle 101/ Light

I love this quote from Jennie Allen’s Bible study, Restless.

Felt like it needed a doodle home to help me remember it:)

Fires can be hot and uncomfortable…even life threatening…yet, God can take any fire and use it to display His glory.

The enemy desires the fire to consume us…God can use it to Redeem us…restore us…transform us.

EVEN, if the fire has left us in ashes…God can STILL make beauty out of those ashes.

We have a good God.

Doodle 101 / Create in me…

I’m so grateful that our Father allows our hearts to be cleaned…mine gets so dirty every day…and yet, I know that as I daily surrender and repent…my heart can be made new.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. ”   – Psalm 51:10

…even when I need the extra rinse cycle:)

I pray that He would renew a right spirit within me, that I may better love.

I pray He does the same for you:)

Blessings often come in disguise… As we are afforded the opportunity to look back with a perspective that can come from the Holy Spirit (if we seek Him), our good God allows us to see the work of His hand.  Finding joy in our pain can only come from the confidence developed through obedience and blessing.  I re-learn this quite often:)

Continuing in my study (Jennie Allen’s Restless) I am reading in Genesis…the life of Joseph.

Joseph followed his dreams…and they were BIG dreams.  At times, they were dreams that seemed impossible. But God is in the business of making the impossible, possible.

 We were meant for more…we were meant to dream…

God often has bigger plans than we have for ourselves, and somehow, the dreams we have, linked to the passions and gifts God has created in us, fulfill His purpose for His glory.

There we will find contentment…we will find God.

Doodle 101 / Daughter of the King

Good Morning! It’s been too long since I’ve created a Doodle 101!

I am so sorry for those of you who have been following and waiting!

What’s kept me busy?  Selling our home, building a new one, living for 5 weeks out of a suitcase…

We are now finally getting settled and feeling so very thankful!

I do love our new place.  It’s what they call (in Cincinnati) a “Courtyard” home.

It is a single dwelling home that has a courtyard in between our place and the house next door.

After caring for a huge yard and pool, my husband can now relax and enjoy a golf course close by…I’ve not seen him more excited than the day he bought his new golf cart:)

I admit that I tend to be a “home body.”  A good day for me is being home all day…worshipping, cooking, nesting, and painting.  I am often reminded that although I do enjoy many good gifts the Lord has provided, this is not our home.

One day we will live in the place our Lord has prepared for us.

We are daughter’s of the King:)

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?” – John 14:2

From the time we are little girls, our dream is often of being a princess…

but the thing is…we already are.

In Christ, it is our heritage.

Our God is a GOOD Father.
